Cardinals Tell a Story

My wife loves cardinals. For her birthday last year, I painted her a cardinal scene in oils. We've enjoyed it so much that we have created small vignettes of the painting for tiles, ornaments, and cards.
At our most recent holiday art show, many of you stopped to tell us your personal cardinal stories and they were heartwarming. Some were recollections of cardinals at the bird feeder. Others remembered their moms, grandmothers or other loved ones. A few people had tips on what winter seed was the best mix. Some thought cardinal sightings might be a sign of good luck or blessing.
What we know is this: cardinals are precious markers of beauty in our neighborhoods, and when we see them, our hearts are warmed and lifted.
